EL AL Welcomes Its Fourth 787-8 Dreamliner and Inaugurates Its First SAF-Powered Flight

The newest addition to EL AL's Dreamliner fleet, named "Nof HaGalil," has joined the ranks, expanding EL AL's Dreamliner fleet to a total of 16 aircraft, including twelve 787-9s and four 787-8s.

This aircraft offers three service classes: Business, Premium, and Economy, and will operate on long-haul flights to North America, Europe, and the Far East.

For its inaugural journey, the aircraft was welcomed on Tuesday, August 1st, with a traditional "water salute" ceremony at Ben Gurion Airport after a direct flight from Boeing's factories in Seattle to Tel Aviv.

First EL AL Flight Operated with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

This milestone represents a significant moment in EL AL's history, as it marks the first flight powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

This achievement places EL AL at the forefront of global airlines in terms of sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The arrival of this new 787-8 Dreamliner into the EL AL fleet is an integral part of the company's strategic plan for fleet expansion and rejuvenation. It aims to provide an enhanced flight experience and greater energy efficiency.
