Ooredoo and Doha Bank Join Forces in Ministry of Labour Summer Internship Initiative

Doha: The 2023 summer internship program, aimed at Qatari students, continues to thrive under the guidance of the Ministry of Labour and several private-sector partners.

This initiative is an integral part of the broader National Program for Job Localization in the private sector and is set to run throughout the summer vacation period. Within the realm of communications and information technology, "Ooredoo" has actively engaged seven students in its summer internship program. Simultaneously, Doha Bank has overseen the participation of five students from the financial and insurance sector.

The tally of enrolled students for this summer internship, slated to continue until the end of August, has now reached an impressive count of "198" students. These students have sought internship opportunities across various sectors.

The summer internship program, among the human capacity development initiatives introduced by the Manpower Employment Department at the Ministry of Labour in partnership with the private sector, holds the purpose of furnishing university and school students with practical experience and honing their skills, equipping them for entry into the workforce. It is also a strategic investment in the future Qatari workforce.

By engaging in this program, students can explore their interests and make optimal use of their summer break, fostering values of responsibility and dedication.

The summer internship endeavor provides students with a distinctive platform to delve into the workings of approximately 31 diverse sectors and fields, encompassing noteworthy domains such as finance and insurance, services and transportation, communications and IT, real estate and contracting, as well as energy and industry.

This program empowers students to assess the alignment of their skills and abilities with these industries, aiding them in crafting effective blueprints for their educational and career paths in the future.
