Qatar News Business: Qatar and Hungary Foster Bilateral Ties to Enhance Cooperation

Doha, Qatar: The Qatari-Hungarian Joint Economic Committee convened for its third session, hosted by Hungary. The meeting was chaired by H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and H E Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, and took place in Budapest.

During the session, the Minister of Commerce and Industry lauded the robust and growing relationship between Qatar and Hungary, citing the continuous strengthening of ties through official visits between the two nations. The Minister highlighted Qatar's efforts to attract foreign direct investment and international expertise across various sectors, including technology, infrastructure, health, trade, and investment. These initiatives align with Qatar's objectives of fostering a conducive environment for the digital ecosystem.

He reiterated Qatar's dedication to upholding economic sustainability and stability, while positioning the nation as an attractive destination for foreign investors. He expressed eagerness to seize the numerous investment opportunities between Qatar and Hungary, with the aim of fostering collaboration across multiple sectors.

The session delved into various areas of cooperation in priority sectors, along with strategies to bolster bilateral collaboration in trade, investment, construction, infrastructure, agriculture, shipping, civil aviation, health, education, and information technology. The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation to boost trade exchange and facilitate the movement of goods, services, and investments between Qatar and Hungary.
