Qatar News Business: Qatar Chamber and Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forge Alliance to Establish Qatari-Tajik Business Council

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Chamber (QC) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan have solidified their partnership by signing an agreement to establish a joint business council (JBC) between the two chambers.

The signing ceremony took place at the QC headquarters, with Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Tawar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, and Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, officiating the agreement. The event was attended by H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Qatar, Khisrav Sohibzoda.

The primary objective of the Joint Business Council is to facilitate effective communication between the two parties, fostering increased trade and economic collaboration between Qatar and Tajikistan. This will be achieved by establishing communication mechanisms among business stakeholders from both nations, facilitating information exchange on trade and economic cooperation, and strengthening ties between the private sectors in areas such as trade, investment, technology transfer, services, industry, and more. The council also seeks to encourage participation of businesspersons in exhibitions held in both Qatar and Tajikistan.

The signing of the agreement marked the conclusion of a meeting between Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Tawar Al Kuwari and Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries for mutual economic benefit. The investment climate, available opportunities, and potential for joint ventures in Qatar and Tajikistan were also topics of discussion.

Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Tawar Al Kuwari acknowledged the strong relations between Qatar and Tajikistan and highlighted how the recent visit of Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Tajikistan has opened new avenues for cooperation. He emphasized that this enhanced partnership will positively impact trade and economic sectors, contributing to increased trade and investment exchange.

Al Kuwari encouraged Qatari entrepreneurs to invest in Tajikistan, citing the promising investment opportunities available there. He also called upon businesses from both Qatar and Tajikistan to leverage the strong bilateral relations, fostering partnerships and trade alliances that can mutually benefit their economies. He urged Tajik companies to consider investing in Qatar, highlighting the favorable business climate, supportive regulations, and abundant investment prospects in the country.

Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, praised the growing relations between the two nations. He expressed Tajik companies' interest in entering Qatari markets with their high-quality and competitively priced products. Jurakhon underscored that the establishment of the joint business council will lead to enhanced cooperation across various sectors.

He announced that Tajikistan will host a significant international investment forum in September, inviting the Qatar Chamber to participate. The forum will address pivotal economic matters, providing an opportunity for Qatar to assess the investment climate and prospects in Tajikistan. Jurakhon highlighted the successful investments of Qatari Diar Company in Tajikistan as a testament to the potential for fruitful collaboration between the two countries.
