Qatar News Business: Qatar Stock Exchange Unveils Cutting-Edge E-Trading Platform with Robust Solutions

Doha: In a significant move towards its strategic objectives of global investment transformation, Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) has introduced an innovative and robust e-trading platform. This milestone achievement aligns with the ambition to position Doha as an international investment hub.

Powered by advanced financial market technologies from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), the unveiling ceremony took place at the headquarters of Qatar Stock Exchange, attended by officials and representatives from QSE and LSEG.

Abdulaziz Nasser Al Emadi, Acting CEO of QSE, emphasized the pivotal role of this electronic trading system in QSE's development strategy, enabling it to establish a prominent position among the world's leading exchanges. He acknowledged the valuable partnerships and collaborations that contributed to the successful launch.

Al Emadi stated, "The platform plays a crucial role in enhancing market confidence, improving the performance of investment services and products, and elevating trading surveillance. It facilitates the attraction of a diverse investor base and offers a trading platform capable of accommodating new investment instruments, including derivatives markets."

He highlighted the advantages for both issuers and investors, emphasizing the speed, efficiency, and accuracy offered by the platform's technologies.

Aisha Al-Mahmoud, QSE’s IT Director and Project Manager for the new trading system, underscored the platform's significance in QSE's evolution. She highlighted its potential to introduce new products and services to a wider segment of investors and participants in derivatives and equity markets. The incorporation of cutting-edge technology will enable QSE to achieve its goals and enhance operational efficiency.

John Walker-Robertson, Global Head of Cross-Asset & Market Infrastructure at London Stock Exchange Group, described the partnership with QSE as a step towards state-of-the-art and innovative trading infrastructure. He mentioned that the new infrastructure aligns with global best practices and standards, leveraging industry-standard FIX messaging.

Vidumini Ranasinghe, Senior Project Director at LSEG, emphasized that the platform's launch marks a pivotal milestone. Built on advanced technology employed by global capital markets, the high-performing trading platform signifies a crucial capability for QSE's financial market development.
