The Minister of Finance participates in the "Qatar Beyond Now" session and reaffirms commitment to supporting development

His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, the Minister of Finance, affirmed the State of Qatar commitment to supporting development at both bilateral and multilateral levels, in line with the objectives of its National Vision 2030, which aims to cultivate a society capable of playing a significant role in the global partnership for development.

This occurred during his participation in the dialogue session, "Qatar Beyond the Present Moment: It All... and Seizing Opportunities for Prosperity," held on the sidelines of his attendance at the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, which took place from October 9 to 15 in the city of Marrakech, Morocco.

His Excellency emphasized that the completion of major projects preceding the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022, has allowed the state to gradually reduce budget allocations for such large projects, while still energetically investing in the education and healthcare sectors, as well as developing sustainable urban infrastructure projects.

Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari discussed Qatar ongoing efforts to realize its national vision, implementing medium-term strategies in the remaining years until 2030. He stated, "The next phase of the third national development strategy will focus on economic diversification, improving the business and regulatory environment, supporting the private sector, and attracting foreign investments, with an emphasis on tourism, logistics services, and enhancing competitiveness."

The discussions covered topics such as financial cycle management after the World Cup, Qatar medium-term strategy to achieve National Vision 2030, and Qatar more active global role in international development financing.
