Opening of the Fifth Edition of Amman International Coins and Stamps Exhibition

The Amman International Coins and Stamps Exhibition opened its doors today for its fifth edition, organized by the Jordanian Association of Philatelic and Numismatic Collectors, under the theme "Jordan: Cradle of Civilizations and a Tourist Destination."

Delegations from stamp and coin collector associations of participating countries, including Arab and international associations dedicated to the hobby of stamps and coins, are taking part in the three-day exhibition. Algeria is the guest of honor at the exhibition, with several Algerian associations participating, along with representatives from Palestine, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Oman, Lebanon, Canada, and Germany. Participants are showcasing stamps and coins dating back to various periods in the history of their countries.

The Jordanian Association of Philatelic and Numismatic Collectors is actively participating in the exhibition with a group of members, alongside the Central Bank and Jordan Post. They are exhibiting their latest stamp releases related to Nabatean inscriptions in Jordan and Euro-Mediterranean festivals.

During the opening ceremony, the association's president, Jalil Tannous, emphasized that collecting stamps and coins is a national memory and a historical record that observes the social, political, and economic life of countries, as well as a global culture that transcends borders and promotes cultural expressions and values among nations. He highlighted that the exhibition provides an opportunity for people to meet, connect, consult, and convey a message. The hobby of collecting coins and stamps is widespread across all segments of society.
