Moteur! Unveils Itself at the National Theatre of Nice on February 28th, Last night, on February 28th, the National Theatre of Nice was aglow with an extraordinary event dedicated to the Moteur! Competition. It was an evening filled with emotion, showcasing the remarkable talent and creativity of young participants hailing from the PACA region.

The Moteur! project, a beacon of equal opportunity for youth, took center stage at the Franciscans' hall. Since 2017, this bold initiative has aimed to inspire young minds, fostering their desire to progress and gain confidence by connecting them with inspiring role models and encouraging them to envision their futures.

Every year, the association hosts a competition inviting young individuals aged 14 to 22 to create a 1-minute film about someone who inspires them. By expressing gratitude to a mentor who helps them better define themselves and celebrating the power of human connections, participants take another step towards building confidence and self-discovery.

The 8th edition of the Moteur! Competition, chaired by Jonathan Cohen, is currently open and will close on April 1st, 2024.

A Campus of Confidence reserved for youth from the PACA region

The Campus of Confidence is typically a retreat reserved for winners of the Grand Prize of the Moteur! Competition. It brings together young people from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds to embark on a unique human adventure. Over several days, they explore various forms of expression such as slam poetry, public speaking, and theater. They broaden their horizons through inspiring encounters and masterclasses. It's a transformative experience, leaving participants feeling better equipped and prepared to navigate life, thanks to listening and trust.

Moteur! innovates by creating its very first Campus of Confidence in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur from February 26th to 29th, 2024. Fourteen young individuals from the region who participated in the 2023 Moteur! Competition were invited.

For this occasion, the National Theatre of Nice, under the direction of Muriel Mayette-Holtz, opened its doors to them for four days of slam poetry workshops, physical expression, and theater, punctuated by cultural outings and a discovery of the carnival. Throughout the stay, the youth will be guided in writing and presenting their slam poetry by Jacky Ido, a renowned actor, director, and slam poet. They will also benefit from the advice of the TNN theater troupe and have the opportunity to meet mountaineer Emma Clair Dumont, the 13th Frenchwoman to climb Everest.

At the conclusion of the 8th edition of the Competition, 25 laureates will be selected and will have the privilege of walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival during the week of May 20th, 2024. They will receive their Moteur! Golden Clap from Thierry Frémaux, the Festival's General Delegate, and attend an official screening of the 77th edition. Their portraits will also be displayed in XXL format at the Cannes Train Station.
