Kuwait Eases Travel for GCC Nationals with Visa-on-Arrival

Kuwait is now offering visa-on-arrival for residents of GCC countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain, making it easier for professionals and tourists to visit. This initiative aligns with Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to modernize travel and promote tourism.

Eligible applicants must hold a residency permit valid for at least six months, belong to specified professional categories, and have a valid passport and return ticket. Travelers must also not be on Kuwait’s blacklist. The visa is granted directly at Kuwait International Airport and allows stays of up to three months.

This measure builds on the e-visa platform introduced in July 2025, which provides pre-approved electronic visas to eligible visitors. The combination of e-visa and visa-on-arrival options demonstrates Kuwait’s commitment to simplifying entry procedures while maintaining control and security.

The initiative also paves the way for the planned unified GCC tourist visa, expected to enhance travel flexibility across Gulf nations. By introducing this system, Kuwait reduces bureaucratic barriers and encourages more frequent regional visits.

Authorities emphasize that the program focuses on skilled professionals and visitors contributing to economic development. It also supports tourism, short-term business visits, and cultural exchanges.

With this visa-on-arrival scheme, Kuwait reinforces its position as a traveler-friendly destination while promoting regional cooperation. GCC residents now enjoy faster, simpler access to the country, reflecting Kuwait’s dedication to modernization, security, and regional integration.

The program illustrates Kuwait’s strategic approach to improving its travel ecosystem, balancing convenience for visitors with robust immigration standards, and encouraging both economic and cultural engagement in the Gulf.
