Qatar Unveils Luxury Offerings at ILTM Cannes 2021

Qatar is rapidly solidifying its position as a premier destination, aligning its tourism strategy with the objectives outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030. A pivotal facet of this strategy is prioritizing the visitor experience in all new initiatives and programs.

As an integral part of the "Qatar Tourism Strategy 2030," Qatar has introduced an array of captivating experiences, including a wave of new luxury hotels, theme parks, shops, and significant leisure projects. These exciting developments have either recently opened or are scheduled to debut in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In response to the demand, Qatar is actively constructing over 100 new hotels and serviced apartments, further enriching its already extensive portfolio of properties. Among these new establishments are prestigious additions such as the Raffles Hotel and Fairmont Hotel and Resort at Katara Towers, Rosewood Doha, and the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island. These world-class hotels are poised to enhance Qatar appeal to high-value travelers, offering an even wider array of choices alongside its existing portfolio of 80 five and four-star hotels.

Berthold Trenkel, Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism, expressed enthusiasm for expanding the nation's tourism offerings and welcoming visitors to experience the best of Qatari hospitality. He stated, "We are continuing to expand our tourism offering and are excited to introduce guests to the best of Qatari hospitality. In 2019, we saw over two million visitors to Qatar, and we hope to see similar growth trends now that we are welcoming visitors back to the country again."

With less than a year until the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Qatar offers the perfect opportunity for travelers to explore its accessible introduction to the Middle East. Qatar seamlessly blends cosmopolitan modernity with breathtaking landscapes, Arabic traditions, cuisines, and cultures. The country boasts a rich cultural heritage, luxurious five-star hotels and resorts, an array of outdoor activities, pristine beaches, world-class museums, and cultural landmarks waiting to be discovered.

In addition to these developments, Qatar is set to welcome several major tourism projects, including Place Vendome—a shopping mall boasting 580 retail outlets, two five-star hotels, and entertainment zones. Other notable projects include the West Bay North Beach development with six beaches, restaurants, and outdoor activities, and Qetaifan Island North, which is poised to become Qatar first entertainment island, featuring five-star hotels and resorts, beach clubs, and water parks.

These endeavors align with Qatar vision of raising the tourism sector's contribution to Gross Domestic Product to 12 percent by 2030. Qatar is committed to enhancing its assets and attractions, improving the end-to-end customer experience, investing in Service Excellence, and implementing a tailored marketing strategy to attract both point-to-point and stopover visitors.
