In collaboration with HK Express, the Cathay Group successfully exceeded the two million passenger mark within a month, a milestone achieved for the first time since the pandemic.

Cathay Pacific transported a total of 1,744,374 passengers last month, reflecting a remarkable 693.8% increase compared to July 2022. Additionally, revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) saw a significant rise of 421.6% year-on-year.

The passenger load factor increased by 16 points, reaching 89.3%, while capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), experienced a substantial growth of 328.2% on an annual basis.

Furthermore, during the first seven months of 2023, the number of passengers carried witnessed an extraordinary surge of 1,622%, alongside an 818.9% increase in capacity and a 1,149% boost in RPK compared to the same period in 2022.

The Cathay Pacific Group aims to recover 70% of pre-COVID passenger capacity levels by the end of 2023 and hopes to return to pre-pandemic capacity levels by the end of 2024.

Cathay Pacific stands as one of the world's largest operators of the Airbus A350, a state-of-the-art aircraft utilized for passenger flights between Europe and Hong Kong, among other routes.

Launched 14 years ago, the airline's Fly Greener program, the first of its kind in Asia, has successfully reduced CO2 emissions by over 300,000 tonnes. Between 2019 and 2021, Cathay Pacific made significant environmental commitments:

• Utilizing 10% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as part of its total fuel usage by 2030

• Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050

• Reducing single-use plastic per passenger by 56% compared to the 2018 baseline and working towards new objectives.

Cathay Pacific operates regular passenger and cargo flights to and from Paris using Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft, as well as Boeing 747 cargo planes.
