Qatar News Business: Qatar Chamber and Arab-Brazilian Chamber Strengthen Cooperation

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber (QC) convened a meeting with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration between the two organizations and promoting cooperation between the Qatari and Brazilian private sectors.

The meeting saw the participation of Deputy General Manager Ali Bu Sharbak Al Mansouri, along with the Secretary-General and CEO of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Tamer Mansour. Also present were Shaheen Ali Shaheen, the Counsellor of GCC, Iraq, and Yemen at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, and Al Anoud Al Mohannadi, Director of the Membership Affairs Department at the Qatar Chamber.

Ali Al Mansouri highlighted the robust relations between Qatar and Brazil across various domains, particularly in economic and commercial realms. He emphasized the presence of high-quality Brazilian products in the Qatari market and provided insights into the Qatar Chamber's role in supporting and representing the Qatari private sector. Al Mansouri underlined the chamber's efforts in promoting the national economy, enhancing the investment climate, and organizing informative seminars, conferences, and exhibitions.

Tamer Mansour, Secretary-General of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, lauded the multifaceted relations between Qatar and Brazil, particularly in trade and economy. He commended Qatar's status as a distinguished and secure nation, serving as an attractive investment destination. Mansour pointed out that Qatar ranks third among GCC states in terms of trade volume with Brazil, noting substantial growth in recent years, especially in food, agricultural products, poultry, and meat.

Mansour presented the "Easy Trade" project initiated by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, which aims to facilitate digital customs clearance for trade between Brazil and Arab countries. This innovative initiative streamlines trade processes by creating a digital link for all Brazil-issued certificates, including health certificates, origin certificates, and invoices. These documents are verified and shared with customs authorities in partner countries, including Qatar.

The discussion also explored opportunities for collaboration between the two chambers. Mansour suggested the establishment of a re-export model that could be applied to other countries and proposed linking the Information Technology departments of both sides to further streamline the re-export process between Qatar and Brazil. He extended an invitation to the Chamber's board members and companies to participate in upcoming Brazilian events, such as the Halal Forum scheduled for October.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of organizing a Qatari Brazilian business forum, aiming to unite entrepreneurs from both nations to explore potential avenues for cooperation and partnership in trade and investment.

Al Anoud Al Mohannadi expressed intentions to establish a connection between the Chamber and the Customs Authority, enhancing cooperation with exporting countries' customs authorities.
