His Highness the Emir and the German Chancellor hold an official discussion session
His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State, and His Excellency Mr. Olaf Scholz, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, held an official discussion session at the Chancellery in the capital, Berlin, this afternoon.
During the session, they examined the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and discussed prospects for development and progress in the fields of economy, investment, and energy, as well as addressing a number of common interests at regional and international levels. The Emir emphasized the importance of efforts to reduce escalation and spare civilians the consequences of conflicts, particularly regarding the evolving situation in the Palestinian territories and the humanitarian implications within these territories, as confirmed by His Highness. He also discussed the need for safe corridors to Gaza for relief and humanitarian efforts, ensuring that violence does not spread regionally, and Qatar's firm stance against the targeting of civilians.
The discussion session took place in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sharida Al Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, as well as Their Excellencies the members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Emir.
From the German side, also present were His Excellency Mr. Stephen Hebstreit, the official government spokesperson, His Excellency Dr. Jörg Köckes, the State Minister to the Chancellor, Mr. Jens Plotner, the Chancellor's Advisor on Foreign and Security Policy, Dr. Steven Mayer, the Chancellor's Advisor for Economic, Financial, and Climate Policies, and Dr. Shea Lenhardt, Ministerial Advisor and Deputy Minister, Director of the Advisor's Office, and Dr. Daniel Kreber, Head of the Department for Bilateral Relations with the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America.
Before the discussions, His Highness the Emir and the German Chancellor held a bilateral meeting in which they discussed the cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.
The German Chancellor hosted a lunch in honor of His Highness the Emir and the accompanying delegation.
