Pedro Winter, Madame Monsieur, Joachim Garraud: Spotlighted on the Stage at MIDEM+ 2024 in Cannes: The renowned music gathering in Cannes was back with a fresh edition of MIDEM+, running from January 24th to 27th. Throughout January, Cannes resumed its role as the epicenter of music by once again hosting the International Market of Records and Music Publishing (MIDEM), inaugurated in 1967. Revitalized last year by the Cannes City Hall with Jean-Michel Jarre as its patron, the event had undergone a complete transformation.

The French group Madame Monsieur, propelled by their 2018 Eurovision Song Contest entry "Mercy," had also taken center stage. The hip-hop group De La Soul and the duo Black Star had captivated the audience at the Grand Auditorium.
Rock enthusiasts had anticipated an electrifying performance by the Swedish group Royal Republic (Baby). Some concerts had already been sold out, including those of Kid Francescoli with French 79 and the rapper Soolking.

Professionals had engaged with the public in enlightening conferences, featuring figures such as Jeronimo Folgueira, the head of the music streaming platform Deezer, Bertrand Burgalat, artist and president of Snep, and Alma Rota, contributor to Rolling Stone magazine.
For cinema enthusiasts, there had been an opportunity to savor two screenings of the documentary film on David Bowie, "Moonage Daydream" by Brett Morgen, at the Olympia cinema. A project spanning over five years, it had brought together unprecedented footage shedding light on the life of the iconic "Heroes" performer.
