ILTM Asia Pacific: Witnessing Unprecedented Participation

ILTM Asia Pacific

ILTM Asia Pacific. As the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia Pacific gears up for its largest event to date, anticipation is high. Scheduled to take place at Marina Bay Sands from July 1st to 4th, 2024. This year's edition is set to host an astounding 650 international buyers.

Steve O’Loughlin, ILTM's Hosted Buyers Manager, revealed to TTG Asia. "The presence of 650 accredited buyers this year marks a significant 28% increase compared to 2023. Of these, 36% hail from Australia and New Zealand, while the Chinese market alone will contribute over. 100 Luxury buyers – doubling the figures from the previous year."

Meanwhile, nine percent of buyers originate from India, highlighting the region's importance for ILTM.

"With India's ongoing infrastructure development, including plans for additional airports over the next four to five years, we foresee a promising surge in outbound travel. It's imperative that we stay ahead of the curve by engaging buyers involved in India's growing wealth," added O’Loughlin.

This surge in participation underscores the robust interest in travel across the region, paralleling the expected rise in spending on leisure travel projects by outbound travelers.

According to O’Loughlin, ILTM's meticulous buyer selection process ensures the engagement of top-tier industry decision-makers. Buyers are required to demonstrate their dealings with high-net-worth individuals and must have an annual income of at least one million pounds (1.3 million US dollars) to qualify.

During the event, buyers will have 54 pre-scheduled 15-minute appointments, providing ample opportunity for meaningful connections. Additionally, they can partake in various networking opportunities during the Opening Forum and Closing Party. Furthermore, this year's edition promises an expanded presence of representatives from European and Japanese destinations.

"There has been a noticeable increase in flights from Asia-Pacific to Europe, as indicated by the participation of European hotels at the exhibition. Inbound travel to Japan is also experiencing remarkable growth, with travelers increasingly exploring destinations beyond the traditional hotspots," explained O’Loughlin.

Among the noteworthy exhibitors are the Los Angeles Tourism Bureau, Edition Hotels, Banyan Tree, Wilderness Safaris, Avalon Waterways, and Uniworld.
