Unilever has been distinguished as the 2024 Creative Marketer of the Year at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. This accolade recognizes Unilever’s consistent delivery of groundbreaking and award-winning marketing campaigns across its diverse portfolio of brands.

Renowned for its bold and innovative marketing strategies, Unilever previously received this honor in 2010 and has since amassed numerous Lions, including accolades for brands such as Dove, Hellmann’s, and Magnum. At last year's Cannes Lions, Dove's ' #TurnYourBack' campaign, created by Ogilvy London / DAVID Madrid, earned the Media Lions Grand Prix. The campaign was celebrated for its powerful message encouraging young people to reject societal pressures and embrace their authentic selves.

Dove’s commitment to inclusive beauty began with the iconic ‘Real Beauty’ campaign in 2004, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. This campaign has been pivotal in reshaping societal perceptions of beauty and has garnered widespread acclaim and numerous awards, including the prestigious Dan Wieden Titanium Lion Grand Prix.

Underpinning Unilever’s success is its Creative Excellence program and 'Get on the Frontline' marketing philosophy. These initiatives focus on nurturing creative talent, fostering innovation, and driving effective brand communication strategies. The Creative Council, led by Unilever’s Chief Growth & Marketing Officer, Esi Eggleston Bracey, plays a crucial role in championing creativity across the organization.

The Creative Marketer of the Year award, introduced in 1992, has previously honored industry giants such as Apple, Coca-Cola, and Google, underscoring the importance of creativity in driving business success.
