Al Arabi Clinches First Amir Cup Title in Decades with 3-0 Victory over Al Sadd

In an exhilarating final match at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, Al Arabi triumphed over 18-time Amir Cup champion, Al Sadd, securing their first title in decades with a resounding 3-0 win.

With a crowd of 37,839 fans filling the stadium, the atmosphere was electric as both teams battled it out on the field. Despite Al Sadd dominance in the first half and Al Arabi strong defense, neither team managed to break the deadlock.

The momentum shifted in the second half, igniting the intensity of the game. Within minutes, Omar Al Somh scored, giving Al Arabi a crucial 1-0 lead. The goal sent the crowd into a frenzy, with Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani among the enthusiastic spectators.

In the 90th minute, Hamid Ismaeil doubled Al Arabi lead, sealing their advantage. As the final moments ticked away, Al Somh scored again, securing a convincing 3-0 victory for Al Arabi.

Fans erupted with joy as Al Arabi celebrated their triumph, especially after their loss to Al Sadd in the 2020 final. It was a historic moment for the team, marking their first Amir Cup win in many years.

Younes Ali became the first Qatari coach to claim the Amir Cup since 1993-94. The last coach to achieve this feat was Lebanese-Qatari Ahmed Omar, who interestingly saw his team, Al Arabi, fall to Al Sadd in the championship match.

Al Arabi, founded in April 1952 as "Al Tahrir," is the second oldest team in Qatar. Known as The Red Devils, the club boasts one of the largest and most loyal fan bases in the Gulf nation.
