A Night of Impact: The Better World Fund Gala Unites Visionaries at Cannes

In a dazzling display of unity and purpose, the Carlton Cannes hotel played host to an extraordinary gathering during the Better World Fund Gala. This prestigious event, which harnesses the power of cinema for the greater good, drew a diverse and passionate group of individuals from around the globe. From acclaimed actor Leonardo DiCaprio to Liz McComb, Arisa, Georges Tomb, Alok Petrillo, Yury Revich, Fisher Stevens, Kelly Piquet, Kiera Chaplin, Tony Nader, Hofit Golan, Swan Sit, Johanna Plafsky, Richard Orlinski, Alvaro Nuñez, Scottie Thomtson, Tom Volf, and many more, luminaries joined forces with esteemed figures like Minister Sonia Guajajara, Federal Deputy Célia Xakriabá, Secretary Osmar Almeida Junior, and the renowned Chief Raoni to shape a brighter future for society.

Under the masterful guidance of Nadia Farès and Ghassan Yammine, the evening unfolded as an unforgettable experience. The Better World Fund Gala honored those who have made significant contributions to social and environmental causes. Arisa (Italy) and Liz McComb (USA) were recognized for their outstanding commitment, while Sônia Guajajara (Brazil) and Alice Chen (USA) received well-deserved accolades for their remarkable achievements. The Academia for a Better World Trophy found its deserving recipient in Karine Gros (France), and the Best Achievement in Cinematography Award shone a light on the exceptional work of Tom Volf. Posthumously, Ahmad Jamal (USA) was honored with the Best Achievement Award, accepted on his behalf by his daughter. Enzo Di Taranto (USA) and Alok Petrillo (Brazil) were also acknowledged for their exemplary dedication, completing the prestigious list of honorees.

Additionally, the Gala lent its support to the Amazônia Fund Alliance for the Brazilian Federation of UNESCO (BFUCA), a vital organization dedicated to preserving the precious ecosystems of the Amazon rainforest.
