Al Arabi journey to the finals was marked by a nail-biting contest against Al Ahli, where they secured a close 34-33 victory.
Congratulating the handball team stars, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani described their win as "deserving." He took to his social media accounts to express his admiration for Al Arabi sporting achievements and their third title in the history of the competition. Sheikh Joaan noted that after excelling in football, Al Arabi has now claimed one of the most prestigious cups in handball.
Defeating the four-time champions, Al Rayyan, was no easy feat for Al Arabi. The victory was sealed with just seconds remaining on the clock, despite a comeback attempt by Al Rayyan Omar Al Safad, who brought his team score to 37 points but fell short of equalizing the match.
Mohammed Jassim Al Kuwari, the Vice President of Al Arabi SC, expressed his satisfaction with the win and deemed it an important title for the team. He acknowledged the challenges they faced due to player injuries but affirmed the club determination to continue striving for more Amir Cup titles in the upcoming seasons.
